I just love working with vintage patterns. I don't do it nearly enough, but I feel like, this much along, I'm able to adjust the patterns so that they actually fit. Unlike some of my earlier attempts where everything always came out too big! I have a perfect skirt in my mind and I'm going to start with this pattern, though it probably won't look anything like it in the end! It is going to be very slightly shorter, I won't be wearing a petticoat underneath it, I'm adding a placket and buttons going up the front, adding pockets, and probably some belt loops on the waistband. I'm making it out of a lovely brown linen I bought.
I was at a chamber concert yesterday and I'm afraid it was totally lost on me, all I was doing was figuring out pattern changes and measurements in my head! I'm hoping this skirt will work for my upcoming trip. I have a unrealistic dream of looking like Audrey Hepburn while backpacking through Croatia ;)
