I must have been SEVERLY lacking in creativity when I made this dress. Why do I say that, you ask? Because my fabric choice was EXACTLY the same as the pattern envelope. Down to the pink waist band and everything >> M6557 << In my defense, this was exactly the style I wanted for this fabric. The fabric is light and flowy and PERFECT. It was just asking to be made into a pattern with a circle skirt. And really, not many other colours look quite as perfect with black and white dots as pink! Excuses, excuses.
In any case, it is nice to have a pattern that works out on the first try, without having to adjust it or anything. Very nice indeed. And this dress is super comfortable, the fabric is thin, flowy, heavenly, and perfect for summer. The back is fun, and the bright pink lining is a bit of fun as well!
I've been so unimpressed with my last few projects, that when I put this one on to take pictures of today (it's been hanging up 'waiting' for over a month!), I was just like....'Yes.' No need to give up on life just yet. I really liked this pattern. Highly recommended! Nothing gapes and everything went together easily. I'm sure I'll be using this pattern again at some point!
I've had the fabric in my stash for probably around 4 years. I'm glad I waited for the right pattern to make it up. I really wish you could see what it is really like! I found it at a discount fabric store somewhere in Fall River, MA that I've only been to once and probably will never be able to find again. Almost 5 yards of it. Perfect for a big skirt and fortuitus because usually when I see fabric I like, I rarely buy more than 3 yards. Which thwarts my creativity more often than I would like to say.
