Finished another dress! Finished it a few days ago but I wanted to actually wanted to see what it looked like before I hemmed it....since I don't have a mirror....But I eventually found a mirror to use and decided to hem it. Love it.
It is made out of a nice, cool, breezy, stretchy fabric (found some black stretchy thin fabric for underneath too! Perfect for the top fabric!) so it is great for summer I think. Not as hot as some other maxi dresses I've made. Crazy comfortable, super quick and easy to make, no seam rippage necessary :) Fits great, I don't have to keep looking at my chest to make sure I'm not flashing people, as often happens because I never get fit quite right, but this one is perfect. Black in the middle is wide elastic, NO ZIPPER!! Pattern all my own, just cut and go :P The top is pretty basic, the bottom is wrapped (bottom and top layer) with the top layer being gathered up on the side, making it have a kind of sweep thing going on.
And I finally used this fabric. I've had it for years, my mom sent it to me in a care package months and months ago. Fairly certain this isn't what I was going to make with it when I originally bought it, but things change :) One down, more to go, lol. I have another summer dress in the works, also very easy (well, I'll tell you that when I get it finished. Things can always go wrong!) that should be done soon. I'm on a roll.
