I don't often make shirts, but I really should since, as much as I love dresses, I probably do end up wearing jeans and shirts more often. And I'm slowly venturing into the world of knits, only took me 6 months to start after getting a serger. They are wonderful though. I shall be making more!
The first is a pattern from a Burda magazine. Made out of some sort of baby silk stuff from Joann's. Wonderful fabric! With some sequin trim that I may or may not have melted a little during the process. It is a bit low cut but not 'flashy' if you know what I mean. It is a tunic length and just plain serged around the hem, gives it an edge? y/n? The great thing with sergers is that sometimes laziness can look planned ;P But I got it done in time for our Memorial Day BBQ! It was supposed to be made with jersey, but I didn't. And it still fit
fine even without a zipper.
Second is a simplicity pattern I think. I absolutely adore cowls. The shirt turned out a bit big and I had to take it in a bunch, but it works. I'll make a smaller size next time though. One would think that when a pattern is made for jersey it would take out a bit of the ease. The jersey is some of the softest stuff I have ever felt! Wonderful. Should be for $9 a yard while on clearance! Thankfully I can make a shirt out of one yard!
I've got two dresses that are finished that I have yet to take pictures of and I have a few more that I've started and one that I am currently making a pattern for. Busy busy!
