Hi! Another gift that I made for Christmas. Since I finally sent it off to my friend and she received it, there is no harm in posting it now!
I have to say that I LOVE the way it turned out! I was so tempted to keep it for myself. I started with the Tudor Rose pattern (you can find it online) and made some changes along the way, mainly with the actual bag part of it. Anyway, here it is. I absolutely love it. The outside is some strange gray material, the inside is some silky something (see, technical terms). The petals have quilting with pink and metallic threads and the leaves have designs in them with green thread. The center of the rose is smocked (it looks woven, but nope!) and I think that smocking technique is just fantastic!
There is a zippered pocket inside, a magnetic snap to close it, and an extra purse strap to extend it if you want to wear it messenger bag style.
Not much else to say about it...
Hope you like it! I may have to make one for myself :) Except it took me forever, I'm not sure I can bring myself to spend that much time on something too soon! I'm very happy that my friend liked it, for such a history buff I knew she would like that it was the Tudor Rose :) Lady Jane, you'll have to tell me if you wear it out and get any comments :)
