Just a few pics from the Blithewold Estate and Gardens that we went to when my sister was here. Think of it as a mini Newport mansion. The gardens are the best part, so thankfully, when we showed up and the house was closed on Mondays, the gardens were still open.
I had been there before but how can you not want to go back to someplace so pretty? Plus, there is something magical to me about forests when it is overcast outside. They seem more alive to me than when it is sunny out for some reason. Which is strange for me to say, because I generally don't like cloudy days at all. But in a forest, it just seems right. I could have stayed in the forest all day. Somehow you can just see all the ancient magic of the forests come alive. It is perfect :)
Now that I sound like a loony, here are a few pics from the zoo we also went to in Rhode Island, near Providence.
Oh, and just because some of you out there will definitely appreciate this, check out this knitting store we found on the cape
