I'm always more happy with the way my vintage patterns turn out, I think I just like the style of them more. I shortened the bodice on this one, because it seemed too long...turns out it wasn't....I don't think it came out too badly though. I have a few more things to stitch on the inside, but it is essentially finished. Still too hot here to wear anything with sleeves though, so I'll have to wait a while to wear it.
Also....close your eyes and pretend that the belt is brown :P I have to go out and buy a belt for the damn thing, ran out of fabric to make one with.
I like the button placement on the pattern. Along with mistakenly shortening the bodice, I shortened the shoulders as well, definitely a good move, maybe that makes up for the bodice? Lol. I also added a lining to the skirt. OH! And the back isn't too big! In general, the entire thing actually fit very well without adjustments, which is a first. Vintage patterns are so much better. Anyway, the fabric is some that I bought over a year ago when I first started sewing. I'm trying to go through my fabric stash instead of buying new stuff (I was SO CLOSE to buying something when I was at Joann's last week...so close. I practically ran out of the store to stop myself)
In any case, I'm happy with how it turned out, I like shirtdresses :)
