I don't know why it took me so long to rent this movie, I wanted to see it back when it came out. But no matter, I'm glad I saw it. Really fantastically done! All star cast, all fantastic actors, obviously a fun story. There was no reason to have it set in Japan except for a little bit of the exotic, but it didn't detract at all. I enjoyed the rice paper houses and Japanese arches in the forest. So, it was a bit random, but still great! Really fantastic acting out of the entire cast, although, I mainly judge the acting in Shakespeare movies at how easy it is to understand them through their phrasing of the verse and their other gesticulation and actions.
My dad left half way through, but I'm convinced that he doesn't like Shakespeare that much and is prejudiced against movies. I think it would be an enjoyable and fun movie even if you aren't a Shakespeare fan, but I may not be objective there :P
